Press Release:
October 17, 2000
|
Austin, Texas - Sofia Shaikh, a tenth grade student at LBJ High School has become one of the world’s youngest Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, and she has done it in style.
In the spirit of the current Olympics, Sofia scored a perfect score of 1000 marks out of 1000, on her sixth and final MCSE exam, making her parents proud and giving bragging rights to Cyber Technologies, where she prepared for her MCSE course. “I’ve only seen a handful of perfect scores”, said Jon Kutner, President of Testing Zone, Inc., an Austin based testing center where Sofia took the majority of her MCSE exams. “Sofia’s
accomplishments say a great deal about her ability, motivation, and training.”
Sofia is a native of Pakistan and came to Austin just five years ago. English is her second language. She started with her first computer in 1997 and created her first web site within six months. She is the daughter of Iqbal & Zahida Shaikh. Mr. Shaikh owns Cyber Technologies, a division of Cyber-Tex, a Microsoft Certified Solution Provider.
On Sept 28, her last day before turning 16, her goal was to pass the final MCSE exam with distinction. She accomplished that with a perfect score, and Friday the 29th she turned 16!
